Absolutely terrible pickup experience. Orders are consistently 30–40 minutes late, and the staff seems completely indifferent to delivery drivers. No greetings, no updates, no effort to check on waiting drivers. Drivers are left standing around while employees focus on everything else. This level of poor service wastes drivers’ time, hurts customers, and shows a lack of professionalism. I avoid accepting orders from this location whenever possible because the delays and lack of respect are simply unacceptable.

i’m in love with sushi, this place definitely scratches the itch but isn’t anything crazy. their menu is decent in terms of variety they have soups, rolls, bbq and etc. the main low point of this place was the service. the people were nice but we were one of maybe 3 or 4 parties in the restaurant and had to call multiple times to get served drinks and get to go containers. mind you there was 3 or 4 servers at the time so was a little interesting but didn’t let it ruin the experience. the main highlight is the atmosphere it’s very cozy and chill inside with wood accents all around. the short ribs were decent too, tender for sure but had quite a bit of fat on them so if you’re not into that then beware. rolls were passable, like i said nothing crazy in terms of flavor. and price was very reasonable

First time visiting, and this will definitely be our new spot. We had a table of 5. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. We were warmly welcomed, all of our questions were kindly answered, and the staff checked on us often. The food was absolutely delicious—we loved everything we tried. The spicy edamame was my favorite, and the presentation of the rolls was beautiful. Mine was vegetarian and was equally as thoughtful as the other rolls. Highly recommend!

I had a lovely dining experience that balanced great flavors, attentive service, and a touch of charm. I decided to eat at the bar since it was just myself dining.🍽 The miso soup was warm and savory, a comforting start to the meal. I especially appreciated the seaweed salad, which was fresh and vibrant. The spicy edamame was just okay—mild in heat, but still a nice appetizer.🍽 The standout for me was the Lava Roll—beautifully seared, giving it a subtle BBQ-like touch that set it apart from typical rolls. The spicy mayo (i ordered on the side) had a pleasant tangy kick that complemented it well. To drink, the Sapporo beer was served crisp and ice-cold, exactly how it should be.🍺 A wonderful surprise was the Studio Ghibli soundtracks playing softly in the background—adding a nostalgic, cozy atmosphere.🎶 The service was excellent. The staff were kind and professional throughout, and Michelle, our waitress, was especially courteous and attentive. All of this for about $45 made for a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I’ll definitely return.🤗

I've eaten at just about every sushi place that Modesto has to offer. Some are good. Some are bad. Okawa honestly is EXCELLENT. The prices are fair and the quality is super high. Rolls are tight and do not fall apart. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very well put together. My new favorite sushi place is right here.
